Have you ever broken or cracked a tooth? Broken your nose? Broken another bone that now aches? Will you ever forget that break? Every time we learn a tough lesson in life, we remember it. The best of us learn from the lesson. We know what caused the outcome. We dissect the actions and think about the circumstances that could have prevented or altered the final picture. What about our business? How do we do this? How do we take x-rays of the grey matter? We all need to do this. We need to have a baseline of what our co-workers know. As leaders, for our next offsite, for our strategic initiatives, for our training and education programs, for our communications, we need to know “where does the patient “stand” today.”
But how? How can we know where our business really “is”… How can we know what everyone see’s or more importantly, does not see? How can we know if our message resonates??
